Former Montreal Expos Pitcher Dennis Martinez To Visit Lynx Stadium On Wednesday, June 7th

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Lynx are pleased to announce that one of the greatest baseball pitchers to ever play for a Canadian team will be at Lynx Stadium for an autograph session on Wednesday, June 7th. Former Montreal Expos great El Presidente Dennis Martinez will sign autographs at Lynx Stadium at 5:30 pm prior to the Lynx game against the Columbus Clippers. Martinez will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Wednesday's 6:05 pm game.

Martinez, a four-time Major League All-Star is best known for throwing a perfect game on July 28th, 1991, with former Montreal Expos announcer Dave Van Horn's classic call of El Presidente, El Perfecto! A native of Granada, Nicaragua, Martinez played in the Major Leagues for 22 years with stops in Baltimore, Montreal, Cleveland, Atlanta and Seattle. El Presidente won 245 games in his illustrious pitching career, and is one of only nine men to win 100 games in both the American League and the National League.
