CINCINNATI, Ohio - Former Cincinnati Cyclones forward David Desharnais has been recalled by the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League. Desharnais played with the Cyclones during the Kelly Cup championship season of 2007-08.

Desharnais, 23, is in his third professional season, having played 68 games with the Cyclones during the 2007-08 season. He had 29 goals and 77 assists for 106 points. David was the ECHL's Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player and led the league in scoring that year. The club went on to capture the Brabham Cup for best record in the ECHL and secured the Kelly Cup championship in six games over Las Vegas.

The five-foot-six, 177 pound native of Quebec City, QC, spent last season with Hamilton and played in 77 games, netting 24 goals and collecting 34 assists for 58 points. David Desharnais becomes the third Cyclones player to earn an NHL promotion (Greg Stewart and J.T. Wyman are the others) since the club re-started operations in 2006-07. Six Cyclones players this season have earned AHL promotions and in the four years under Head Coach Chuck Weber, 54 players have earned shots at playing in the AHL.

The Cincinnati Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of both the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
