Robert Slaney And Greg Scott Assigned To Reading

Reading Royals News Release


Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forwards Robert Slaney and Greg Scott have been assigned to the Royals from the Marlies. In a separate transaction announced today, forward Gavin Morgan has been loaned by the Royals to the Hershey Bears of the AHL.

Slaney (6'2/211) (21), a first year pro from Upper Island Cove, Newfoundland, picked up three assists and seven penalty minutes in eleven games with the Marlies this season. Last season, Slaney, who was a member of the Team Canada gold medal champions in the 2008 World Junior Ball Hockey Championships, led the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in scoring (36g-45a81pts). Scott (6'0/191) (21), a first year pro from Victoria, British Columbia, registered one assist and fifteen penalty minutes in fourteen games with the Marlies this year. In his overage year of major junior with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League last year, Scott led the team in goals, assists and points (32g-44a76pts).

Reading's five game road trip concludes on tonight when the Royals travel to Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania-where Reading is winless in the team's last eight games (0-6-2)-to take on the Johnstown Chiefs. Game time is 7:05 pm on Wednesday, and the radio broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast kicks off at 6:35 pm.
