Sharks Assign Liotti

Kalamazoo , MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announce defenseman Louis Liotti has been reassigned to Kalamazoo from the Worcester Sharks.

Liotti comes to Kalamazoo after spending five games for Worcester.

A first-year pro, Liotti spent the past four seasons playing collegiate hockey for Northeastern University.

Liotti was a plus-26 his final three seasons at Northeastern. Louis was named the Hockey East Best Defensive Defensemen for the 2008-09 season, becoming the second Husky player to receive the honor. Liotti was also a semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award, given to New England's best American-born Division I hockey player.

A two-year assistant captain at Northeastern, Liotti also helped to turn the Huskies program around from three wins his freshmen year to an impressive 25 his senior season, including the school's first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1994.

Before coming to Northeastern, Liotti was a standout defenseman for the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL. He was the captain of the team that had a 37-17-6 record and won the Western Conference Championship.

Liotti is schedule to make his K-Wings debut tonight as they begin a brief two-game road swing against the Cincinnati Cyclones with a 7:30 p.m. face-off from the U.S. Bank Arena.

The K-Wings return home to Wings Stadium this Saturday, November 28th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Florida Everblades on Win-Win Night presented by Win-98.5.
