
Ford Named ECHL Goaltender Of The Month For December

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that goaltender Todd Ford has been named the ECHL Goaltender of the Month for December.
Ford, 25, went 9-2-0 with a goals-against average of 2.18 and a.935 save percentage. The Calgary, AB native helped the Stingrays to an 11-2-0 record and started in ten consecutive games from December 6 through the 27. Ford allowed two goals or less in seven of his eleven starts including a 25-save, 4-0 shutout performance on December 13 against Charlotte.
Selected as a starter for the American Conference in the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game in Ontario, California, Ford had a career-best nine-game winning streak and stood between the pipes when the Stingrays set a new team record of 13 consecutive wins on December 19 in a 4-2 victory over the Charlotte Checkers.
Currently on loan to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey league, Ford is 16-6-1 this season with the Stingrays and leads the league in wins. Ford is also second in saves with 690 and tied for second with 1,416 minutes. The 2002 third-round draft pick by Toronto has played in the ECHL since 2004-05, his rookie season. Ford has spent time with South Carolina, Victoria, Columbia and Pensacola going 99-69-16 with eight shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.92 and a save percentage of.912 in 194 regular season games. He has appeared in 20 Kelly Cup Playoff contests finishing 12-8 with a GAA of 2.30, one shutout and a.931 save percentage.
