
Everblades Receive Two from Rochester

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush in coordination with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced that Everblades ECHL affiliate Rochester have assigned goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu to Florida and returned ECHL All Star defenseman AJ Thelen to the Everblades.
Thelen, 23, returns to Florida after receiving his first promotion this season. In nine games on loan to Rochester the Minnesota native was held scoreless with six minutes in penalties. The 2004 Minnesota Wild first round draft choice was selected to his first ECHL All Star game in December. In 26 contests with Florida this season, Thelen has seven goals and 15 points with 40 penalty minutes. Upon his departure he ranked in the top five in shots on goal, power play goals, power play points and overall points amongst ECHL defenseman.
Beckford-Tseu, 25, joins the Everblades after being recalled for the third time by the Rochester Americans this season. The Toronto, Ontario native appeared in a total of six games with the Amerks posting a record of 0-4-0 with a 4.66 goals against and a 87% save percentage.
Beckford-Tseu has donned an Everblades sweater nine times this season. His has a record of 4-2-1 with a 2.62 goals against average and a 92% save percentage. The 2003 St. Louis Blues fifth round draft choice has posted shutout wins in two of his four victories, which ranks tied for first in the ECHL.
Both players are expected to join the 'Blades on their current road trip.
The Florida Everblades continue their season high, 11-game road trip this Friday in Elmira, New York. The 'Blades battle the Jackals Friday and Saturday night in First Arena at 7:35 p.m. Florida will then travel to Reading, Pennsylvania for a Sunday afternoon contest against the Royals at the Sovereign Center. Face off between the Everblades and Royals is at 5:05 p.m.
