CHARLESTON, S.C. - One of the Charleston RiverDogs' most loyal partners - Force Protection Industries, Inc. - joins the Charleston Restaurant Association as a sponsor for the 53rd Annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game that the RiverDogs will host on June 19, 2012, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

The game will mark the fourth time that Riley Park has hosted the SAL's Midsummer Classic, having also done so in 1998, 2000 and 2004. The game, which showcases the best of the best from the league's Northern and Southern Divisions, will have a true military theme as the RiverDogs continue their on-going support of our troops at home and abroad.

The RiverDogs' popular website will expand to encompass military-related information. The website, www.riverdogs.com, now has a special page ( www.riverdogs.com/military) devoted specifically for military personnel so they can stay updated on all of the RiverDogs' military involvement including but not limited to discounts and events including the All Star Game. The page will continue to grow and provide information to Joint Base Charleston and the greater Charleston Military Community.

"Force Protection is a leader in manufacturing military vehicles, and baseball has always taken pride in supporting the military," said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols. "We're fans of each other in the commitment to our military and look forward to our special recognition of the brave men, women and families of our armed forces here in Charleston and around the world during the all star game and festivities as well as year round thru our new webpage partnership with Force Protection."

"Force Protection is pleased to partner with the RiverDogs for the 2012 South Atlantic League All Star Game," said Tommy Pruitt, Senior Communications Director. "We are both committed to supporting our local military in many ways. The integration of military members into All Star week will add positively to the atmosphere and events associated with the game.

"We look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks and months about our plans to involve and salute the military during All-Star week," Pruitt added.

Force Protection Industries, Inc., located on Highway 78 in Ladson, has evolved as a leading center for blast technology and counter improvised explosive device (IED) research as they design, manufacture, test, deliver and support blast- and ballistic protected vehicles around the world.
