FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - Georgia Force rookie DS Chris Brown earned AFL Rookie of the Month for January/February.
In Week 4, Brown tied a Force single-game record with three interceptions in Georgia's 54-34 victory at Las Vegas on February 17. The first interception ended the Gladiators first drive of the game, as Brown made a diving catch in the end zone. He returned the final two interceptions for touchdowns from 32-yards and 4-yards. Brown also led the team in tackles (7.5) and recorded two passes defensed in the game.
Brown followed his Week 4 performance with one interception and nine tackles in Week 5 against Kansas City on February 24. Brown returned the interception 49 yards for a touchdown in helping to secure the Force's 51-19 win over the Brigade, giving Georgia their third victory of the season. The interception return marked Brown's third straight interception returned for a touchdown, and Georgia's franchise-high fifth interception returned for a touchdown in a single season. The Force's previous high was four interceptions returned for a touchdown in a single season-set in 2003.
The Force will host the Austin Wranglers (4-1) on Saturday, March 4 at 12:00 p.m., in Philips Arena. Georgia defeated the Kansas City Brigade last Friday, February 24, in Philips Arena, improving the Force's record to 3-2 for the season.
