Ron Jaworski, Maxwell Football Club President and National Selection Chairman announced today that, in conjunction with Harrah's officials, they have named Colorado Crush offensive specialist DAMIAN HARRELL the winner of the 2nd Annual Al Lucas Award as the Arena Football League Player of the Year for 2005.
Other Maxwell Football Club award winners announced were Seattle Seahawks running back SHAWN ALEXANDER as Professional Player of the Year, Indianapolis Colts Head Coach TONY DUNGY as Professional Coach of the Year, University of Texas quarterback VINCE YOUNG as 2005 College Player of the Year, Penn State's PAUL POSLUSZNY as the College Defensive Player of the Year and Penn State's legendary coach JOE PATERNO as College Coach of the Year. Former University of Texas coach DARRELL ROYAL was awarded the Reds Bagnell Award for Contributions to the Game of Football and ESPN Anchor and NFL Sideline Reporter SUZY KOLBER was named Sports Broadcaster of the Year.
