TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Harrisburg Senators will meet in the finale of a three-game series...The Senators moved back over .500 for just the second time this season as they knocked off the Flying Squirrels 5-1 in game two of the series on Wednesday night at The Diamond.
TONIGHT'S STARTER: Right-hander David Mixon gets the start in the finale of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Earned the win against Bowie 5/29...Allowed just one run on five hits in 6 2/3 innings...Struck out eight batters and walked just one...Retired 10 of 11 batters after giving up back-to-back hits to start the second inning...Lone run allowed come on a Steve Lerud two-out, solo homer to right field...Recorded seven ground outs and three fly outs...Threw 101 pitches, 68 strikes...Threw first-pitch strikes to 16 of the 25 batters he faced...Has allowed two runs or fewer in eight of his 10 starts...Five of his 10 outings have been quality starts...Is 5-0 in five starts where he has tossed six-plus innings...Ranks third in the Eastern League in fewest base runners per nine innings at 9.31 (61/59.0 IP) and WHIP (0.98)...Ranked fourth in the Eastern League with a .213 batting average against, tied for fourth in strike outs (52) and is seventh in ERA (3.05)...Was opposed by Brad Meyers in his only career appearance against the Senators.

SWEEPLESS?: The Flying Squirrels are trying to avoid being swept for the second time this season...The only other time the club was swept in a series was 4/12-4/14 at Altoona...Richmond has recently avoided sweeps after dropping the first two games against Erie (5/18-5/19) and at Reading (5/21-5/22).
AT A LOSS: With a loss tonight against the Senators, the Flying Squirrels would match their longest losing streak of the season...The club dropped five games in a row on its opening road trip through Bowie and Altoona (4/10-4/14)...It is the second time the Flying Squirrels have lost four straight games having lost four in a row 5/15-5/19...The club is batting just .185 (25-for-135) over the last four games with 36 strike outs and 10 walks...The Flying Squirrels are slugging just .229 over that span with only five extra base hits...Overall, Richmond has lost nine of hits last 11 home games after starting the season 13-3 at The Diamond.
SERIES OF LOSSES: With last night's loss, Richmond is now 0-4-2 over its last six series...The Flying Squirrels have dropped three-game sets to Erie (5/18-5/20), Reading (5/21-5/23), and Harrisburg (6/1-6/3) while also losing three of four to Bowie (5/28-5/31)...The club has split four-game series with Altoona (5/13-5/16) and Binghamton (5/24-5/27)...Overall on the season, Richmond is now 6-7-3 in series.
BEHIND THE CURVE: The Flying Squirrels trail the Altoona Curve in the Western Division by eight games entering play today...It is the farthest the club has been out of first place this season...Richmond had a 1 1/2 game lead over Altoona on 5/14..Since that date, the Flying Squirrels are 5-13 while the Curve is 15-4.
HERE'S THE CATCH: Catcher Jackson Williams went 0-for-14 with five strike outs in four games played on the home stand...The 24-year-old began the season with an 11-game hit streak (14-for-34) but is batting just .096 (9-for-94) over his last 30 games...His average has dropped from .412 to .180 over that span.
DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 66 double plays in 53 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned and has not gone more than two games without turning a double play.
CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: The Flying Squirrels are 1-5 on their current seven-game home stand, having been outhit in all five losses...The club has been outhit overall 68-41 through the first six games of the series...The lone game in which the club was not outhit was David Mixon last start 5/29...Overall, Richmond is 1-20 when being outhit by its opponent.
