Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Southern League has announced that Dylan Floro - for the third time this year - has been selected as the league's Pitcher of the Week for the game spanning June 30 to July 6.

Floro tossed the only nine-inning shutout of the year for the Biscuits in the series-opener against the Mississippi Braves on the 4th of July. Floro's gem only lasted two hours and seven minutes - the shortest game of the year for the Biscuits - due in large part to 18 of the outs coming via ground balls. The last nine-inning shutout by a single-pitcher for the Biscuits was Victor Mateo's no-hitter last August.

Floro owns the league's fifth-best ERA (2.81) and sits at 8-6 on the year with two shutouts. He is now the first player for the Biscuits to win three Southern League Player of the Week awards.

The Biscuits are scheduled to have Floro on the mound in the series opener against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos Thursday, July 10th.
