Biscuits Rout Braves with Seven-Run First

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (45-44/10-9) score seven runs in the first inning and match a season-high with three home runs in a 9-0 win over the Mississippi Braves (50-38/11-8) Monday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Two batters into the first inning, the Biscuits got on the board. A single from Jake Hager drove in Ryan Brett who doubled to start the first inning. After a bunt from Taylor Motter, Cameron Seitzer singled in the second run of the inning. Luke Maile's double made it 3-0 to score Seitzer. Alejandro Segovia hit a two-run home run to give the Biscuits a five-run lead. The final punch was thrown when Willie Argo sent a Ryan Weber (3-3) fastball sailing over the left field wall to score two more runs.

The Biscuits third home run of the game came with Maile leading off the third inning. Brett would later triple to drive in another run, making it 9-0 Biscuits. Maile finished a triple-shy of the cycle while Brett needed a home run to hit for the cycle.

Victor Mateo (9-6) picked up his ninth win of the year after throwing six scoreless-innings. He allowed three hits and struck out two. Matt Lollis and Bryce Stowell combined to throw the final three innings.

The Biscuits are now third in the league with eighth shutouts thrown.

The series-finale is Tuesday night at 7:05. RH Michael Colla with throw against RH Mitch Atkins.
