Mobile BayBears News Release
MOBILE, AL - With the score tied 4-4, bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 10th, Evan Marzilli lined a base hit to left to and drove in the winning run as the Mobile BayBears walked off with a 5-4 victory over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos Sunday night at Hank Aaron Stadium. The BayBears (54-33) improved to a season-high 21 games above .500 with their second extra-inning walk-off win of 2014 at "The Hank",
Mark Thomas broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth with a two run homer but Pensacola scored two runs in the top of the seventh to even the score at 3-3. Again in the bottom of the eighth inning, Mobile went up by a run with a two-out RBI single from Jon Griffin.
In the top of the ninth, Jesse Winker reached on a double after Marzilli tripped while going backwards to catch the fly ball. Winker then broke for third on a wild pitch and scored when Thomas' throw to third from behind the plate rolled into left field and Winker tied the game at 4-4.
The bottom of the 10th began with a ground out from Todd Glaesmann but Zach Borenstein singled then stole second and back-to-back walks to both Thomas and Nate Samson set up Marzilli for the bases-loaded walk-off single.
RHP Archie Bradley began the game for Mobile but settled for a no decision. Bradley allowed just one earned run on four hits, walking two and striking out three in 5.1 innings of work. The win was credited to Willy Paredes (3-1) who worked a scoreless top half of the 10th.
