
Florida Panthers Acquire LW Philippe Lefebvre and 2014 Seventh Round Pick from Montreal

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers Executive VP & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired a LW Philippe Lefebvre and a seventh round selection (originally Florida's) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for RW George Parros. The selection was originally traded to Montreal on June 30 at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for pick No. 206 (D MacKenzie Weegar).
Lefebvre, 22, has played in 92 AHL games, recording 18 points (9-9-18) and 20 PIM in two professional seasons with Montreal's AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Trois-Rivieres, Que native has also recorded 16 points (8-8-16) and 12 PIM in 28 games with Wheeling (ECHL) during the 2012-13 season.
The 5-foot-11, 175-lb winger signed as a free agent by Montreal on Sept. 15, 2009. He completed his junior career in 2010, playing three seasons with Drummondville (QMJHL), registering 174 points (76-98-174) and 130 PIM in 256 games.
