Jets Sign Forward Samson

The Winnipeg Jets are pleased to announce they have agreed to terms with forward Jerome Samson on a new contract. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Samson, 25, played in 37 games with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League last season. In that time, he recorded 27 points (7G, 18A) and 27 penalty minutes. In 2011-12, the native of Greenfield, PQ appeared in 16 games with the Carolina Hurricanes where he collected five points (2G,3A). Samson has played in 46 NHL games in his six-year career with the Hurricanes where he's scored nine points (2G,7A) and collected 18 penalty minutes. He has also played in 356 AHL games with Albany and Charlotte where he has scored 280 points (133G,147A) and collected 257 penalty minutes, highlighted by an appearance in the 2011 AHL All-Star Classic in Hershey.
