Canadiens Ink 6'2", 230-Pound Forward Nick Tarnasky

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the signing of free agent forward Nick Tarnasky to a one-year, two-way American Hockey League / National Hockey League contract for the 2013-2014 season.

Tarnasky, 28, produced 26 points (16 goals, 10 assists) and accumulated a team-high 138 penalty minutes in 74 games with the Rochester Americans in 2012-2013.

In 293 career regular season AHL games with the Springfield Falcons and Rochester Americans, the Rocky Mountain House, Alberta native has registered 89 points (47 goals, 42 assists) and 571 penalty minutes. In 245 career regular season NHL contests with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers, Tarnasky has recorded 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) and 297 penalty minutes.

Tarnasky, a 6'2", 230-pound left winger, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the ninth round, 287th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
