Blue Jackets Sign Defenseman Thomas Larkin To Two-Year, Entry-Level Contract

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Thomas Larkin to a two-year, entry level contract through the 2014-15 season, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Larkin, 22, was Columbus' fourth pick, 137th overall, at the 2009 NHL Draft. The 6-5, 221-pound blueliner appeared in seven games with the American Hock ey League's Springfield Falcons in 2012-13, recording 1-0-1 and two penalty minutes.

A member of ECAC Hockey's Colgate University Red Raiders from 2009-13, Larkin registered 15-43-58 with 176 penalty minutes and a +14 plus/minus rating during his 147-game NCAA career. He represented Italy at the 2012 IIHF World Championships, tallying 0-1-1 and four penalty minutes in seven appearances.
