ESTERO, Fl. - The Florida Everblades scored three goals in both the second and third periods to cruise to a 6-1 victory over the Norfolk Admirals on Wednesday night at Germain Arena.

The Admirals drew first blood in the second period when defensemen Charles-Olivier Roussel's blast from the right point at 7:56 beat Florida goalie Daniel Altshuller. Roussel's shot appeared to find Steven Whitney's stick on the way to the net, but the goal was credited to Roussel nonetheless.

At 15:16 of the second period, Florida tied the game at 1-1 when forward Brant Harris unleashed a vicious wrist shot from between the circles on the rush. A pass ahead from defensemen Mike Cornell, Harris' snap shot found the top-left shelf of the net past Admirals goaltender Ty Rimmer.

The second Everblade goal came exactly a minute later at 16:16 of the second period as forward Matt Marquardt's one-timer from the right wall found daylight to Rimmer's left side at the near post for a 2-1 lead. Marquardt wasn't finished there.

The captain's second goal came on a strong wrister from between the circles, expanding the Everblades' lead to 3-1 at 18:26 of the second. After 40 minutes, the Admirals trailed 3-1 and began the third with 1:49 left on an Alexander Ranger slashing penalty.

The lead expanded in the final period as Florida found the back of the net on three more occasions. Forward Kevin Lynch, from point-blank range, made it 4-1 with 17:29 to go in the game. Ethan Werek scored his third goal on the year after he positioned himself to redirect a loose shot from the top of the crease. On their 30th shot on net, Werek lifted the Blades to a 5-1 advantage with 10:57 to play.

After pulling goaltender Ty Rimmer midway through the third, Florida forward Brant Harris notched his second goal of the game with just under seven minutes to play. The scoring stopped there, and the Admirals fell, 6-1, in the team's first-ever meeting with the Everblades.

Rimmer stopped 25 shots on 30 opportunities in 49 minutes of action for Norfolk, while Cadorette allowed a goal on seven attempts in his professional debut. Florida's Altshuller saved 27 shots of the 28 he faced. The Admirals went scoreless on four power plays, and the Everblades went 1-for-6.

Next up for Norfolk is Orlando tomorrow night at 7 p.m. They conclude the road trip on Saturday against the Solar Bears at 7 p.m.
