Americans Resume Road Trip in Colorado

October 21, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Allen Americans News Release

Loveland, Colorado - The Allen Americans resume their four-game road swing tonight in Colorado against the Colorado Eagles at 8:05 pm.

The Americans suffered a 3-1 defeat Sunday night in Tulsa, to drop under .500 for the second time this season.

"Our top players need to be better," said Allen Americans Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson. "We made a few changes this week that should help our power play get going."

So far this season the big three from last year, Chad Costello, Gary Steffes and Greger Hanson, have a combined four points in three games. Justin Courtnall leads the team in scoring with three points, (1 goal & 2 assists) through three games. Joel Rumpel has made all three starts so far playing very well with 2.02 goals against average and a 0.926 save percentage. Rumpel has earned all the playing time because of Riley Gill's illness, which has kept him out of the lineup this season.

"We're facing some tough opponents this week," said Chad Costello, who has just one goal and one point so far this season. "There are no excuses, we just need to be better and that starts now."

The Americans will travel to Utah for a weekend series against the Grizzlies following tonight's game against the Eagles. You can watch both games at the official watching destinations this season; The Franchise in Plano or 5th Street Pizza in Allen. You can listen to the games streaming online at www.hot1073fm.com or www.allenamericans.com.

The Americans return home on Halloween night for the Missouri Mavericks at 7:05 pm. Tickets are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com or call 972-912-1000.
