ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., March 6, 2009 - Ronald Dupree and Dontell Jefferson scored 19 points apiece to lead the Utah Flash to a 102-94 NBA Development League victory over the Albuquerque Thunderbirds Friday at Tingley Coliseum on the New Mexico State Fairgrounds.

The victory improves Utah, playing its ninth in the last 11 games on the road, to 20-13. The Flash has won seven of those nine and is staring at an eight-game home stand beginning Monday when the Idaho Stampede visits the McKay Events Center in Orem. Albuquerque dropped to 19-16.

With the Flash trailing 25-22 after the first quarter, Kevin Kruger came off the bench to hit a trio of three-pointers while the Flash limited Albuquerque to just 16 points in the second period to take a 52-50 lead at the half. The Flash never trailed again.

"I'm proud of the way our guys have stepped up and met a huge challenge in this part of our schedule head on," Utah head coach Brad Jones said. "We had 31 assists on 39 made baskets tonight plus 10 steals. Things go well when we execute the way we are capable."

Dupree collected 11 rebounds to record his fifth double-double of the season and was three assists shy of his first triple-double. Nine Flash players recorded at least one assist, led by Jefferson with nine. Bennet Davis chipped in 15 points for Utah, followed by James Lang with 12. Carlos Wheeler and Kruger had 11 points each.

Jasper Johnson scored 19 points and had 11 rebounds to lead Albuquerque. Keith McLeod and Will Conroy contributed 18 points each for the Thunderbirds. Antonio Meeking scored 13 and had nine rebounds, while Antoine Agudio added 12.

The first of eight straight games at home against Idaho on Monday will be a battle for the top spot in the NBADL West Division. The Stampede is 22-14, up one-half game on the Flash and is idle until coming to Orem.
