LOS ANGELES ACQUIRES EARL BARRON FROM SIOUX FALLS

The Los Angeles D-Fenders have acquired center Earl Barron from the Sioux Falls Skyforce in exchange for C.J. Giles, it was announced today. Barron, a 7'0", 268-pound center, spent three seasons with the Miami HEAT from 2005-08. The University of Memphis product played in 82 games (15 starts) for Miami, where he averaged 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13.9 minutes.

Barron previously played in the NBA Development League with the Florida Flame (on assignment from the Miami Heat during the 2005-06 season) and the Huntsville Flight from 2003-05. In 61 career games in the NBA D-League, Barron averaged 12.0 points and 6.1 rebounds.

Giles played in 11 games (nine starts) for the D-Fenders where he averaged 12.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 27.0 minutes.

THURSDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Thursday's games

Erik Daniels had a career game of 30 points, 23 rebounds, and 10 assists in Erie's 108-92 win over the Tulsa 66ers on Thursday afternoon. It is the seventh triple-double in the league this season. Maureece Rice contributed 21 and Ivan Harris added 17. Other BayHawks in double figures included Tony Bethel with 13 and Darian Townes, who came off the bench with 14, adding to a strong defensive performance with six blocked shots.

Gary Forbes and Ryan Humphrey led the way offensively for Tulsa with 23 and 22 points respectively. Jeremy Kelly added 15 with Keith Clark and Moses Ehambe each notching 12 to round out the 66ers in double figures.

The Sioux Falls Skyforce's Frank Williams and Bobby Jones combined for 62 points Thursday night as the Skyforce defeated the Central Division-leading Iowa Energy by a score of 121-101. Williams scored 19 points in the third quarter and finished with 32 for the Skyforce. Jones had an all-around night with 30 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Kasib Powell added 18 points while David Bailey recorded a double-double with 12 points and a season-high 10 assists.

Leading the Energy were Courtney Sims and Curtis Stinson who each contributed 23 points. Sims also pulled down 12 rebounds.

Making his debut with Albuquerque this evening was newly acquired Antonio Meeking. Meeking, a 6-7 forward, added 14 points and grabbed 7 boards in less than twenty minutes of play. Will Conroy led the T-birds with 37 points while Jasper Johnson and Keith McLeod combined for 33 points, 18 rebounds and 14 assists.

Leading the Toros was Eric Dawson with 39 points and nine boards.

Denver's Chris Andersen tallied five points, five rebounds and blocked four shots.
