BayHawks Finish Strong to Beat Skyforce

ERIE - A strong finish in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference for the Erie BayHawks (21-17) as they the Sioux Falls Skyforce (20-18) 122 to 113, before a crowd of 3580 at the Tullio Arena.

The game remained close throughout the first three quarters with the lead seesawing back and forth between the two teams. The BayHawks offense kicked--in in the final quarter, as the outscored the Skyforce 42 - 32 in the final stanza.

Tony Bethel had his strongest game in a BayHawks uniform knocking down a game high 32 points including a couple of crucial jumpers late in the game. Both Maureece Rice (24 points, 12 rebounds) and Erik Daniels (20 points, 11 rebounds) had double-doubles in the win.

Frank Williams and Kasib Powell led the scoring for the Skyforce, marking 23 and 22 points respectively. The Skyforce had 6 players finish in double figures.

The BayHawks home stand continues Sunday night with a 7:00 PM tipoff against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. The game will feature $1 hot dogs courtesy of Smith provisions. Tickets are available at the Tullio Arena box office.
