
Los Angeles' Sun Yue Assigned To D-League Affiliate Los Angeles D-Fenders

NEW YORK, March 6, 2009 - The Los Angeles Lakers today assigned Sun Yue to the team's NBA Development League affiliate Los Angeles D-Fenders. Sun is the 28th assignment of the 2008-09 season and the first from the Lakers to the D-Fenders this season.
Sun, a 6-9 guard from China, has appeared in 10 games with the Lakers this season, totaling six points and two assists in 28 minutes. He made his NBA debut on Dec. 7 against the Milwaukee Bucks and scored four points on 2-of-3 shooting in five minutes.
Originally selected by the Lakers in the second round (40th overall) of the 2007 NBA Draft, Sun signed with the Lakers in August, 2008 after representing China as a member of the Men's Olympic Basketball Team in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Sun will join the D-Fenders this afternoon and is expected to be available for today's game at STAPLES Center against the Anaheim Arsenal.
