Flames Sign Defensemen Toni Lydman and Robyn Regehr

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames Vice-President & General Manager Craig Button announced today the signing of defencemen Toni Lydman and Robyn Regehr. As per club policy, terms and conditions of the deals were not disclosed.

TONI LYDMAN played in his second NHL season during the 2001-02 campaign posting 28 points (6 goals, 22 assists) and 52 penalty minutes in 79 games. The 6'1" 201 lbs. rearguard finished sixth on the Flames in points (28), tied for fifth in assists (22) and second in defence scoring (28). In 141 NHL career games the native of Lahti, Finland has recorded 47 points (9 goals, 38 assists) and 82 penalty minutes. The 25 year-old was the Flames' fifth choice, 52th overall, in the 1997 Entry Draft.
