Late game heroics once again earned the Flames a regulation point in an overtime loss. Kyle Greentree scored with just nine seconds left in regulation before Quad City allowed an overtime goal in a 3-2 extra session loss. Joel Perrault netted the game winner for San Antonio. David Van der Gulik netted the Flames' other goal in the game.

The teams traded first period power-play goals leaving the game tied at one after one frame. Brett MacLean started the scoring when he deflected a shot by Alexander Nikulin past Flames netminder Leland Irving during a Rampage man advantage. The Flames answered seven minutes later when David Van der Gulik netted his seventh goal of the season following a centering feed from John Armstrong. Dan Spang earned the secondary assist on the power-play tally that tied the game at one.

In the second period, Leland Irving stopped 17 San Antonio shots to hold the Rampage off the board. Meanwhile, San Antonio's Josh Tordjman stopped all five shots he faced, and the game remained tied at one after two periods.

The Rampage moved in front again with just 7:59 left in regulation time. Kevin Porter netted his first AHL goal during a shorthanded 2-on-1 break. Porter took a feed from David Spina and beat Irving to put San Antonio ahead 2-1. Porter's goal set the stage for more late game Flames heroics. Kyle Greentree scored following a feed from Kris Chucko with just nine seconds left in regulation. Chucko drove down left wing before throwing the puck in front for Greentree who tipped it past Tordjman to tie the game.

In the overtime, Sean Sullivan set up Joel Perrault for the game-winner. Sullivan drove down the wing and behind the net before finding Perrault in front for the game-winning tally.
