New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, have announced that fans can support the SuperCoop Fund, established for Cooper Doucette, when they purchase tickets for the Fisher Cats/Harrisburg Senators game on Thursday, September 2 at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.
Cooper, a sophomore at Nashua North High School, was injured during a routine tackling drill at football practice on August 14, 2010. Cooper was treated at Children's Hospital in Boston after suffering a break in his C5 vertebra. After stabilizing his neck and vertebra, the long-term implications from this rare incident are still unknown.
The Fisher Cats will be donating a portion of online ticket sales for the game on Thursday, September 2 to the SuperCoop Fund. Fans simply use the special offer code 'COOPER' when purchasing tickets for the September 2 game at
nhfishercats.com, and $3.00 from every Field Box and Box Seat, and $4.00 from every Premium Box Seat sold will go to the SuperCoop Fund.
"We are thankful to have community partners like the Fisher Cats to rally around one of our families in need," said Nashua North Principal David Ryan. "We are very grateful for their leadership in this fundraising effort."
"It is our honor as an organization to directly support this young man on his road to recovery", Fisher Cats President/GM Rick Brenner said. "We encourage all of our fans to support this very worthy cause."
The SuperCoop Fund will also be holding a bake sale on the concourse of Merchantsauto.com Stadium throughout the game, and selling raffle tickets throughout the park. The raffle prizes include a baseball signed by the 2010 Fisher Cats team, a luxury suite at Merchantsauto.com Stadium for one night with two parking passes, as well as tickets to Fisher Cats games.
