New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

The 2010 Eastern League season-ending All-Star Team was announced today, and a league-leading three members of the Fisher Cats were named to the 13-player roster. Right-handed pitcher Kyle Drabek, and outfielders Darin Mastroianni and Eric Thames represent New Hampshire.

"We congratulate the team on all their achievements throughout the season," Fisher Cats GM/President Rick Brenner said. "They have a solid core of players, and we wish them the best of luck in the playoffs."

Drabek, 22, has anchored the pitching rotation for New Hampshire all season, but is most remembered for his Fourth of July No-Hitter. A former first-round draft pick in 2006 by the Phillies, Toronto acquired Drabek as part of the Roy Halladay trade in December, 2009. The right-handed starter out of The Woodlands High School in Texas leads the Eastern League in wins, 14, ranks second among pitchers in innings pitched, 154.0 and third in strikeouts with 123.

Mastroianni, 25, has set up New Hampshire's lineup in the leadoff spot. The centerfielder selected by Toronto in the 16th round of the 2007 draft from Southern Indiana, has made his mark for the Fisher Cats. Mastroianni has already set Fisher Cats Single-Season Records in hits (146), runs (95) and stolen bases (43). He also leads the Eastern League in all three statistical categories.

Fellow outfielder Thames, 23, has provided the power in the middle of the order. The seventh-round pick out of Pepperdine in 2008 has branded his name into the record book as well. Thames' 97 RBI, 251 total bases and 56 extra-base hits not only put him a top the Eastern League leader board, but first in Fisher Cats single-season history.

All three players participated at the mid-season All-Star Game in Harrisburg on July 14. Drabek (July 4) and Mastroianni (May 9) each won Eastern League Player of the Week honors in 2010.

The Fisher Cats start an eight-game homestand today at Merchantsauto.com Stadium with the first of four contests between the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. This series will be followed by another four-game set against the Harrisburg Senators, Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
