
Fischer Pair Lifts Spits over Storm

(Windsor, ON) - Christian Fischer scored two goals, including the game winner, as the Spitfiresedged the Guelph Storm 3-2 Thursday night in front of 4,443 at the WFCU Centre.
Fischer's second of the game came just six seconds after James McEwan (8) evened things up 6:51 into the second period. His first goal came just 23 seconds into the game, on Windsor's (15-4-3-0) first shot on net.
Garrett McFadden (4) scored the other goal for Guelph (2-17-1-0) and Logan Brown (5) had the other goal for the winners.
Cristiano DiGiacinto extended his point streak to seven games, picking up an assist on Brown's goal.
Garrett Hughson won for the fifth time in as many starts, making 23 saves. The win completed a series season sweep, with the Spits outscoring the Storm 14-4 in the process.
The Spits continue their five-game homestand Saturday night, as the Owen Sound Attack visit, before hosting the Niagara IceDogs Sunday afternoon.
