Don't mess with the hassle of downtown for the Fourth of July - come on out to Pelican Park for America's Pasttime to Celebrate America's Independence Day!!! Fan will be treated to the best display the Pelicans have ever put on immediately following a Pelicans win versus the Sioux Falls Canaries.
FLORIDA GOVERNOR CANDIDATE TO THROW OUT FIRST PITCH
Florida Chief Financial Office and Governor Candidate Tom Gallagher will be on hand at Pelican Park to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday, July 5th. Gallagher will be attending the game to pass out promotional items and talk with fans about his campaign.
THREE PELICANS NAMED TO AMERICAN ASSOCIATION ALL-STARS
Pelicans pitcher Rusty Begnaud, short-stop Carlos Mendoza and third-baseman Trino Aguilar were named to the 2006 American Asscoiation All-Star Team today. The trio will represent the Pelicans as they take on the All-Stars from the Can-Am League on Tuesday, July 18 in El Paso, Texas.
PELICANS ANNOUNCE "TACO BELL TRAINING DAY"
The Pensacola Pelicans are proud to be teaming up with Taco Bell for "Taco Bell Training Day" with the Pelicans, which will take place on Sunday, August 20th at Pelican Park before the Pelicans game vs. the Sioux City Explorers at 6:05 p.m.
Three little league teams will win a chance to get tips on how to hit, field and throw from the Pelican players and coaches. The winning teams will also receive tickets for their team and coaches to the Pelicans game on that day and a one-of-a-kind embroidered Taco Bell Training Day Hat. All little league teams can participate by registering at any Pensacola Taco Bell restaurant and must be between the ages 4 and 12 and a member of a youth baseball organization located in Pensacola and the surrounding area.
A random drawing will be held on Tuesday, August 15 and winners will be notified by phone. Forms are available at participating Taco Bell locations in the Pensacola, Florida area from July 4, 2006 through August 12, 2006 while supplies last.
ED'S ALUMINUM VS MEDIA SOFTBALL GAME
Members of the Pensacola media and Pelicans players and staff will be facing off against Ed's Aluminum softball team. The 65+ slow pitch team have been around for 15 years traveling the country and have won five National Championships together. The game will take place from 5-6 at Pelican Park before the Pelicans play the Sioux Falls Canaries at 6:35 p.m.
