2006 American Association All-Stars Announced

DURHAM, NC - The American Association today announced the players selected for the 2006 All-Star Game versus the Can-Am League on Tuesday, July 18th in El Paso, TX. The starting lineup was determined by the league's 10 field managers and media representatives, while the reserves and pitchers were selected by Lincoln Saltdogs' and All-Star manager Tim Johnson. El Paso Diablos manager Butch Henry and Lincoln coach Jimmy Allen will serve as coaches.
Starters (League leading statistics in parentheses thru July 3rd):
1B: Abner Arroyo, Sioux Falls Canaries - Hitting .328 with 8 HR, 19 doubles (1st), a .574 slugging percentage (2nd).
2B: Alex Llanos, Sioux City Explorers - Hitting .359 (T-2nd) with 4 HR, 22 RBI, and 55 hits.
SS: Carlos Mendoza, Pensacola Pelicans - Hitting .339 with 2 HR, 25 RBI, and 16 stolen bases.
3B: Trino Aguilar, Pensacola Pelicans - Hitting .358 (4th) with 2 HR, 23 RBI, and 59 hits.
C: Dennis Anderson, Sioux Falls Canaries - Hitting .328 with 21 RBI, 44 hits, a .463 slugging percentage.
DH: Jake Whitesides, St. Joe Blacksnakes - Hitting .308 with 37 RBI (T-3rd), 6 triples (T-1st), and 10 SB.
OF: Carlos Adolfo, Fort Worth Cats - Hitting .335 with 6 HR, 37 RBI (T-3rd), a .520 slugging percentage (5th).
OF: Wil Quintana, St. Joe Blacksnakes - Hitting .301 with 10 HR (T-1st), 37 RBI (T-3rd), a .580 slugging percentage (1st).
OF: Brian Sprout, St. Paul Saints - Hitting .359 (T-2nd), with 6 HR, a .430 on-base percentage (4th), a .564 slugging percentage (3rd).
Reserves (Leading statistics in parentheses):
UT: Jorge Alvarez, El Paso Diablos - Hitting .360 (1st) with 43 RBI (1st), 73 Hits (1st), and 17 doubles (2nd).
