ABOUT LAST GAME: David Peterson was sharp on the mound for Columbia despite a 3-1 loss to Rome on Saturday evening. The southpaw lasted seven innings, allowed two earned runs, issued zero walks, and recorded eight strikeouts. Peterson has tossed seven frames in four of his eight starts so far this season.
STREAKIN': Outfielder Raphael Gladu extended his franchise-record hit streak to 18 straight games on Saturday. Gladu passed Asheville's Shael Mendoza (17 games, April 17-May 10) for the longest hit streak in the SAL and all of low-A baseball in 2018. Gladu is hitting .384 (25-for-65) during the hit streak.

BEST OF LUCK: Former Firefly P.J. Conlon was recently designated for assignment by the Mets on May 30. On Saturday, the Dodgers claimed the 24-year-old off waivers and assigned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City. He posted on Twitter following this news thanking the Mets organization. Conlon held a 1.84 ERA in 12 starts with the Fireflies in 2016.
PUTTING IT IN PLAY: The Fireflies have struck out only 419 times this season - the fourth-fewest in the SAL. Ali Sanchez has just 14 strikeouts all year and just four over his last 16 games. Raphael Gladu has three strikeouts in his previous nine contests
