ABOUT LAST GAME: The GreenJackets outlasted the Fireflies 3-2 on Saturday night at SRP Park. Columbia tallied both of its runs in the first inning. Edgardo Fermin led off the game with a solo home run - the fourth of his professional career. Quinn Brodey smashed an RBI double and scored Jeremy Vasquez. Josh Payne had electric stuff out of the bullpen for the Fireflies. The righty pitched three scoreless innings and had three strikeouts.

IRON HORSES: Blake Tiberi, Jeremy Vasquez, Quinn Brodey, and Matt Winaker have all played in 22 of Columbia's 23 games to start the season. Charleston is the only other team in the SAL with four players who have played in 22 or more contests.

WHAT'S AT STAKE: The Fireflies look to avoid a three-game sweep on Sunday. Columbia hasn't been swept in a three-game road series since 2016 (August 16-18 @ Asheville).

SWING AND MISS STUFF: Columbia hurlers lead the South Atlantic League in strikeouts and also rank in the top five across Minor League Baseball.

- Buies Creek (Adv-A): 249 K

- Rancho Cucamonga (Adv-A): 247 K

- Quad Cities (Low-A): 245 K

- COLUMBIA (Low-A): 243 K

- Inland Empire (Adv-A): 241 K

The team matched a franchise record for strikeouts in a game on April 16, 2017 (17).

STILL ALIVE!: Jeremy Vasquez reached base again on Saturday. Vasquez has reached base safely in all 22 games he's played in this season - the best streak for all of Low-A and is the third-longest active streak in all of pro baseball (MLB & MiLB).

1. 24, Odubel Herrera (PHI)

2. 23, Logan Taylor (SEA, A+)

3. 22, Jeremy Vasquez (NYM, A)

He is one of the most patient hitters in the SAL, too - he's first in the league in walks (20) and second in on-base percentage (.463). The 22-game on-base streak is a new franchise record, passing Jay Jabs, Luis Carpio and Andres Gimenez's 17 straight set during the 2017 season.
