LAKEWOOD,NJ - Despite a dominant day on the mound for John Parke (L, 3-1), the Intimidators could not wake the bats up with runners on base, leaving 13 runners stranded, dropping the rubber game to the Lakewood BlueClaws, 1-0.

Lakewood (14-10) recorded their first of two hits of the game in the second off Parke, as Danny Mayer got ahold of his first home run of the season on a 2-1 pitch from the southpaw, proving to be the only run by either team.

The Intimidators (14-10) had a plethora of chances to score during the ball game off Lakewood's David Parkinson (W, 2-1), leaving nine runners in scoring position against the left-handed pitcher. The struggles with runners on started in the first, as Luis Gonzalez recorded his first of three hits with a leadoff double to center field. After getting moved over to second base off a groundout from Laz Rivera, Justin Yurchak and Craig Dedelow both failed to bring in Gonzalez from third, as both grounded out to end the early threat.

Another scoring opportunity presented itself to the Intimidators in the seventh, as Johan Cruz singled on a line drive to center field, followed by a Tyler Frost walk. After a groundout from Gonzalez to first base, moving Cruz and Frost up another 90 feet to second and third for Rivera, Rivera went down on strikes despite a good battle at the plate with two strikes. After the strikeout, Yurchak walked on four pitches to create a bases loaded scenario for Dedelow. Ahead in the count with Zach Warren (H, 2) now on the mound for Lakewood, Dedelow watched three straight pitches with a 2-0 count, leaving all three runners stranded.

The Intimidators will enjoy their first day off on Monday before they welcome the Hickory Crawdads for a three-game series starting on Tuesday.
