On the Road
FC Dallas plays its first road match of 2019 on Saturday against Columbus. Dallas went 6-7-4 away from Toyota Stadium in 2018. The six wins were the most the club earned on the road since it won six in 2011. All-time, FCD is 103-184-78 away from DFW.
MLS Family Connection
FC Dallas and Columbus Crew SC are forever linked thanks to Lamar Hunt. Hunt was the original owner of the Columbus franchise when the league began in 1996. In 2003, Hunt took over the operations of the then-Dallas Burn. The Hunt family sold its stake in Crew SC in 2013 and is now solely focused on soccer in Dallas. Both MAPFRE Stadium and Toyota Stadium have 10-foot tall statues honoring their late patriarch.
Against Crew SC
FC Dallas is 17-19-11 overall against Columbus. The two teams played to a scoreless draw at Toyota Stadium on September 15, 2018. Dallas' last win over Crew SC came in a 3-0 result in 2015, which is also the last time Dallas won in Columbus.
About Crew SC
Like FC Dallas, Columbus has four points through two matches, after playing to a draw and a win through the first two weeks of the 2019 season. Crew SC also has a new head coach in 2019 as Caleb Porter assumed coaching duties on January 4, 2019. Porter was previously the head coach of the Portland Timbers from 2013-2017. Against the Porter-coached Timbers, Dallas went 7-6-5.
