
Columbus Crew SC Sends Defender Alex Crognale on Loan

COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced that it has loaned defender Alex Crognale to Indy Eleven of the United Soccer League Championship on a game-by-game basis. Per the Right of Recall incorporated in the loan agreement, Crew SC retains the right to recall the player at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.
Crognale, a Crew SC Academy product, was signed by Crew SC as a Homegrown Player on December 20, 2016. To date, Crognale has made 22 regular-season appearances for the Black & Gold, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Prior to joining the Crew, Crognale made 73 appearances (69 starts) from 2013-2016 for the University of Maryland, scoring 11 goals and notching three assists. Indy Eleven is led by Head Coach Martin Rennie and is set to face the Charlotte Independence at the Sportsplex at Matthews in Mathews, North Carolina tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET.
