Real Salt Lake News Release
SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake travels to Washington D.C. to face Eastern Conference foe D.C. United on Saturday, March 16 with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. MT from Audi Field. The match will be broadcast live locally on KMYU, KSL.com and the KSL TV app.
The trip will be RSL GK Nick Rimando's final regular season match in D.C., where he starred for United from 2002-2006, winning MLS Cup alongside RSL Head Coach Mike Petke in 2004.
RSL is coming off a home-opening victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday that saw the Utah side claim a 1-0 victory with MF Albert Rusnák scoring the lone goal - his second goal of the season - in the win. The match also saw Rimando make five saves to earn his 210th career win and his 145th career shutout.
In May of 2018, RSL notched a thrilling 3-2 victory over D.C. United at Rio Tinto Stadium that saw Rimando become the first goalkeeper in Major League Soccer history to earn 200 regular season wins. On the night, RSL saw goals from Rusnák, FW Corey Baird and FW Jefferson Savarino solidify the victory.
