FC Dallas Selects Goalkeeper Dan Kennedy in the 2014 Dispersal Draft

FRISCO, Texas (Wednesday, Nov. 19) - FC Dallas selected former Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy with the first overall selection in today's 2014 Dispersal Draft for former Chivas USA players.

The Dispersal Draft was conducted via teleconference call with all 20 MLS clubs.

Kennedy, 32, spent the last seven years of his career with Chivas USA, compiling 451 saves in 144 games. He has a career goals against average of 1.55 and 28 shutouts. Kennedy has started at least 31 matches in each of the last four seasons. He was an MLS All-Star in 2012.

A native of Fullerton, Calif., Kennedy joins an already stout group of FC Dallas goalkeepers in 2013 MLS All-Star Raul Fernandez, 2013 MLS Humanitarian of the Year Chris Seitz and Mexican youth national team goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez. Seitz and Fernandez alternated FC Dallas' three postseason matches this season. Neither goalkeeper suffered a loss. The duo each made seven saves with Seitz picking up a shutout on the road against Supporters' Shield winner Seattle Sounders FC.
