D.C. United Selects Thomas McNamara in MLS Dispersal Draft

Washington, D.C. (November 19, 2014) - D.C. United today announced the club has selected midfielder Thomas McNamara in the MLS Dispersal Draft. McNamara started and appeared in six games and recorded one goal during the 2014 season for Chivas USA.

"Thomas had a great start to his rookie career until he picked up an early injury," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. "We look forward to having him healthy for next year and joining us in the nation's capital."

McNamara was selected by Chivas USA with the No. 20 pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft out of Clemson University. In his first season with the Red-and-White, the midfielder started and appeared in six games and recorded one goal. At Clemson, he led the Tigers to an 11-7-3 record with his team-leading seven goals. The attacking midfielder also recorded eight assists, earning him First-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors.
