FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas enters the 2022 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas with two picks in the first round (3rd and 6th), 34th overall in the second round and 62nd and 66th in the third round as the draft kicks off at 2PM CT on Tuesday, January 11. Rounds 2 and 3 will be available using the MLS SuperDraft Tracker.
Five current FC Dallas players were acquired through the draft: Nkosi Tafari (14th overall pick in 2020), Matt Hedges (11th overall pick in 2012), Nicky Hernandez (15th overall pick in 2021), Ryan Hollingshead (20th overall pick in 2013) and Ema Twumasi (11th overall pick in 2018).
Things You Need to Know About 2022 MLS SuperDraft
How to Watch
The 2022 MLS SuperDraft will be held virtually for the third year in a row starting at 2PM CT. The show will stream live on MLSsoccer.com, the MLS App, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as clubs make their First-Round selections, starting with expansion club Charlotte FC selecting first. Rounds 2 and 3 will not be streamed but will be tracked live via the MLS SuperDraft tracker on January 11.
How the SuperDraft Works
There are three rounds in the SuperDraft, with each team allowed one pick per round. The first pick this year goes to expansion side Charlotte FC, followed by the teams that did not qualify for the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs beginning with the team with the fewest 2021 regular-season points (3 points per win, 1 point per tie). The remaining positions are ranked by the fewest regular-season points among the teams that were eliminated in the same round of the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
