Austin FC Loans Tomás Pochettino to River Plate

Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC announced on Monday that the Club has loaned midfielder Tomás Pochettino to Argentine side Club Atlético River Plate. Pochettino joins River Plate on a one-year loan deal with a purchase option. Per Club policy, financial terms of the deal will not be publicized.
Pochettino made 31 appearances for Austin FC during the 2021 Major League Soccer season, 26 of which were starts. He scored two (2) goals and recorded two (2) assists, with both goals coming in a 3-2 win over Houston Dynamo FC on August 4.
A native of Rafaela, Argentina, Pochettino occupied both a Designated Player and International roster designation during the 2021 season.
Transaction: Austin FC loans midfielder Tomás Pochettino to Club Atlético River Plate. Pochettino joins River Plate on a one-year loan deal with a purchase option for River Plate upon completion of the loan term.
