FC Cincinnati Sees Four Clinching Scenarios for 2023 Audi MLS Playoffs in Wednesday Matchup with Atlanta United FC

FC Cincinnati News Release

FC Cincinnati enter Wednesday's road matchup with Atlanta United FC with multiple pathways to clinching the club's second consecutive berth in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.

Should FCC clinch with eight games to play, they would be the second earliest team to earn a postseason spot since MLS expanded to 34 games in 2011.

The playoff scenarios for Wednesday are as follows:

FC Cincinnati WIN at Atlanta United OR

FC Cincinnati DRAW at Atlanta United AND New York Red Bulls LOSS/DRAW at New England Revolution AND Chicago Fire FC LOSS/DRAW vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC AND Charlotte FC LOSS/DRAW vs. Orlando City SC OR

New York Red Bulls LOSS/DRAW at New England Revolution AND Chicago Fire FC LOSS vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC AND Charlotte FC LOSS/DRAW vs. Orlando City SC OR New York Red Bulls LOSS/DRAW at New England Revolution AND Chicago Fire FC DRAW vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC AND Charlotte FC LOSS vs. Orlando City SC

In 2022, FC Cincinnati punched their ticket to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in club history on the final day of the regular season. FCC went on to beat New York Red Bulls 2-1 in the opening round before falling to Philadelphia Union 1-0 at Subaru Park.

FC Cincinnati and Atlanta United FC will kickoff Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The match will stream exclusively on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and fans can also listen to the action on ESPN 1530.

The Orange and Blue will then return home to TQL Stadium on Saturday to take on Orlando City SC at 7:30 p.m. ET.
