LAST WEEK: Fresno went 3-0-0 last week sweeping the three game weekend series beating Ontario on Friday and Saturday night and Phoenix on Sunday. The Falcons are 11-4-1 for twenty-three points and are in first place in the Pacific Division. The Falcons are tied for third place in the league overall.
Friday November 21 vs Ontario FALCONS 5 Reign 2
The Falcons got off to another quick start with Oren Eizenman scoring just :41 seconds into the game off assists from Brennan Turner and Jarrett Konkle. The Reign scored two quick goals on the power play while Brennan Turner was serving a double minor penalty for high sticking. Igor Gongalsky tied the game and Matt O'Dette put the Falcons ahead scoring the game winning goal on the power play, his first of the season, at 2:10 of the second period opening up scoring of three unanswered goal capped by a short-handed goal by Spencer Carbery at 16:00 of the third period.
Saturday November 22 vs Ontario FALCONS 1 Ontario 0
It was a night of first's for the Falcons. Rookies Kyle Hagel scored the first goal of his professional career and Michael Ouzas earned his first professional career shutout. Tonight's win gives the first place Pacific Division Falcons 21 points in the Pacific Division with a record of 10-4-1-0 giving them a decisive lead over the second place Ontario Reign. At 6:53 in the second period, Kyle Hagel pounced on a loose puck and buried it in the net for the lone goal of the game. Both teams had a strong defensive game and Michael Ouzas held on making some good saves down the stretch to earn his first professional career shutout.
Sunday November 23 vs Phoenix FALCONS 4 Roadrunners 2
The Fresno Falcons beat the Phoenix Roadrunners 4-2 Sunday night capping a perfect weekend of hockey sweeping the weekend series with three wins giving the Falcons a firm hold on first place in the Pacific Division.
Falcons Adam Berti opened the scoring at 5:11 of the first period, his first goal of the season. Phoenix answered with two power play goals to put Phoenix ahead 2-1. Phoenix held on to their lead until 3:22 in the third period when Dustin Sproat scored the first goal of his professional career to tie the game. Sproat was not finished. At 8:04 of the third period he scored his second goal of the evening to put the Falcons ahead 3-2. Matt Stefanishion finished the scoring on an unassisted goal at 15:07 of the third.
