Johnstown Chiefs News Release

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets, and the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters and Syracuse Crunch, announced today that they, and the team's manager Roustan United Arena Solutions, will be working with the John B. Gunter Leadership Program during the 208-09 season.

"Everyone involved in the Leadership Program was interested in finding a project that positively influenced the downtown Johnstown economy, and also had an interest in finding a way to work with area youth and the community," said Jennifer Tiffany, Membership Relations Manager for the Greater Johnstown/Cambria County Chamber of Commerce.

"As everyone knows the Chiefs are a huge part of the downtown economy so working with them gives us a great opportunity. Also, with how active the players are in area schools, and with youth hockey programs they give us a fantastic way to reach the youth in the community," added Tiffany.

"We're thrilled that the Leadership Program chose to work with the Chiefs," said Vice President and General Manager Bill Bredin.

"Having the support of the Chamber is meaningful because the Chiefs are a community oriented team, and rely so heavily on the support of the local business community. We're confident that the partnership between the Chiefs and the Leadership Program will pay dividends for the team and the entire community," Bredin added.
