
Salmon Kings' Boutin Gets Call From The Moose

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that goaltender Jonathan Boutin has been loaned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
Boutin has backstopped the Salmon Kings to 6-3-1-1 record this season, and has been a recipient of the RbK Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week once this season.
The Granby, QC native has earned a goals-against-average of 2.64 to go along with a save percentage .909 this season. Over his seven starts in the month of November he is 4-2-1-1 with two shutouts, a goals-against-average of 2.06 and a save percentage of .929.
The 6-2 and 206lb Boutin was selected in the third round (96th overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Boutin began his career in the ECHL in 2005-06 and was the starting goaltender for the American Conference in the All-Star Game. That year he was 8-9-2 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.93 and a save percentage of .920 in 19 games for Johnstown.
Prior to this season Boutin had spent the majority of his career in the AHL where he had played with Springfield and Norfolk. For his three-year AHL career he accumulated a record of 30-47-6 with four shutouts.
The Salmon Kings roster now sits at 21 players (12 forwards, 7 defencemen and 2 goalies).
The Salmon Kings kick off a 14-day road trip Wednesday in Utah with puck drop at 6:05 p.m. PST. The Kings return home on December 9th when Bakersfield comes to town for a single game. Tickets are still available call 250-220-7777.
