Falcons Unveil "Learning is Magic" School Program

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons and "Dexter the Magician" have teamed together to create the Learning is Magic program for elementary-age schoolchildren. Falcons players Scott Borders, Kevin Truelson and John Wroblewski will join Dexter for the first Learning is Magic school assembly tomorrow at Columbia Elementary School in downtown Fresno at 1:30 p.m.

Learning is Magic is a 45-minute magic show revolving around the importance of education. The Falcons players will help Dexter with his magic tricks as well as address the kids on such topics as working hard, setting goals and realizing the importance of education.

Falcons players Doug MacIver and Brad Mehalko will join Dexter for the second Learning is Magic presentation scheduled for Dec. 11 at Dailey Elementary in the North Tower District Neighborhood at 1:15 p.m.

Fresno next takes the ice on Friday, Dec. 5, at Bakersfield against the Condors before returning to Save Mart Center for a five-game home stand beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. when they host the Alaska Aces.

TRANSACTION NOTE: The Falcons waived defenseman Bryce Thoma today. Thoma was traded to the Greenville Grrrowl yesterday in exchange for cash considerations, but when he failed to report to his new club, the ECHL rescinded the deal.
