Aquino Recalled to Chicago

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Anthony Aquino has been recalled to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

Aquino becomes the third Gladiator to be called up to the American Hockey League, the first to the Gladiators AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.

"Anthony is extremely talented and will excel at the AHL level," said Gladiators General Manager Steve Chalpman. "We are here to help develop young players and we are extremely excited for Anthony getting an opportunity at the next level."

In 14 games this season with the Gladiators, Aquino has tallied 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points and leads the Gladiators in short handed goals with two.

Drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 3rd round, #92 overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the Mississauga, Ontario native was acquired by the Atlanta Thrashers on March 11, 2003 and was reassigned to the Gladiators by the Thrashers from the Chicago Wolves on October 14, 2003.

Aquino will be available for the Chicago Wolves for tonight's game against the Milwaukee Admirals.
