CHECKERS SAY THANKS TO ALL WHO DONATED BEARS IN TEDDY BEAR TOSS BEARS WILL GO TO LOCAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
The Checkers would like to extend a HUGE thanks to all of the great fans who showed up on November 28th to support the Checkers annual Teddy Bear Toss. With your help, over 1,300 stuffed animals of all shapes and sizes were collected off the ice after the Checkers scored their first goal of the game in the first period. Even Chubby was tossed out on the ice by some really excited fans. All of the bears collected, except for Chubby, will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network at Carolinas Medical Center to be distributed to kids who need something to hug this Christmas and while they stay in the hospital. The team will be delivering the bears personally to Carolinas Medical Center upon return from the trip out West.
