Falcons sign right wing Greenough to PTO

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that the club has signed right wing Nick Greenough to a professional tryout agreement. The forward will be available to play for the Falcons tomorrow evening when the team hosts the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Springfield Civic Center.

Greenough, 23, has registered nine points (1g, 8a) and 199 penalty minutes (PIM) in 44 games with the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL this season. The Windsor, Nova Scotia native also skated one game for the AHL's Houston Aeros, collecting two PIM.

Greenough played a total of 38 games in the AHL last season with the Grand Rapid Griffins and Lowell Lock Monsters. The 6'4", 225-pound forward recorded four points (2g, 2a) and 118 PIM between the two clubs. Greenough skated two games each with the Providence Bruins and Manitoba Moose as well as 42 contests with the ECHL's Mississippi Sea Wolves in his rookie season of 2001-02.

The first 3,000 fans in attendance to the Falcons' contest versus the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday night will receive a commemorative poster featuring members of the Falcons' 10th Anniversary Team. On Saturday evening, the Falcons will host Team Jennifer Night in which the players will wear special jerseys that will later be auctioned off through www.falconsahl.com and www.theahl.com to benefit The Jennifer Ferraro Foundation. Numerous items of autographed hockey memorabilia will also be raffled off at Saturday's game for the benefit of the Jennifer Ferraro Foundation.
