Houston Aeros News Release

Houston, TX – The Houston Aeros have recalled defenseman Ben Storey from the ECHL's Louisiana IceGators, the teams announced Thursday. Storey, who played three games for Houston in December, is expected to join the team in time for Friday's 7 p.m. home game against the San Antonio Rampage.

Storey, 26, (6/22/77) currently ranks third among ECHL defensemen with 56 points, and his 18 goals are the most of any blueliner. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Ottawa native is tied for third in the ECHL with 14 power-play goals and he leads the circuit with 39 power-play points. Storey is second in the ECHL in shots at 286. He was a starter at the 2004 ECHL All Star Game and won the league's Hardest Shot Competition.

Storey was originally recalled from the IceGators on December 22 and picked up one assist in three games with the Aeros. He has played 131 AHL games with Hershey and Houston, in addition to one playoff game with Utah, totaling 39 points (8+31=39) and 256 penalty minutes. In his five-year career, counting ECHL and European totals, Storey has 161 points (49+112=161) in 281 games.

Clear Channel and the Aeros will be giving away 1,000 rodeo bandanas to random fans Friday against San Antonio. The game starts a key home-and-home series with the Rampage. Call 713.974.PUCK for more information on tickets and other promotions.
