HERSHEY – The HERSHEY BEARS announced today several transactions leading up to today's American Hockey League roster deadline for the 2004 Calder Cup Playoffs.

The BEARS today acquired defenseman Brian Fahey on loan from the St. Louis Blues organization. Originally a fourth round draft pick by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Fahey played this year with both the Worcester Icecats and the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. In 55 games with Atlantic City, Fahey tallied 11 goals and 37 points. He played four years at the University of Wisconsin from 1999-2003.

In another transaction, defenseman Tomas Slovak was recalled from Reading (ECHL). To make room on the roster for Phil Sauve, goaltender Tom Lawson was assigned to Reading (ECHL).

HERSHEY plays at home both Saturday and Sunday when the Norfolk Admirals and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins visit GIANT Center. Face-off on Saturday is at 7:00 p.m., with Sunday's game slated for 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office for both games. Tickets are also available by phone at (717) 534-3911.
